10th annual SANCCOB benefit auction evening PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 12 October 2010 09:06

The 10th annual SANCCOB benefit auction evening was held recently , and the Waterfront  Boat Company donated a prize .

Below is the thanlk you letter from Venessa Strauss , CEO of SANCCOB....

SANCCOB, Boulders Beach Lodge and Restaurant, and the penguins that we all so desperately want to conserve, would like to extend a very big THANK YOU to you for your generous support of the 10th annual SANCCOB benefit auction evening.

As with all events in aid of charity the success relies heavily on the ‘in kind’ donations from sponsors, such as yourselves.  May we extend a HUGE thank you to you for making SANCCOB a beneficiary of your support. Thank you so much for the private charter trip on the Esperanze – this voucher was a total hit with our guests!

You’ll be delighted to know that the auction raised over R100 000 which will used by SANCCOB to enable it to continue to save penguins and other vulnerable seabirds.  SANCCOB is committed to conserving our ENDANGERED African penguins and vulnerable seabirds through rehabilitation, education, awareness, research and advocacy.

For the first time in 2010 we offered auction attendees a sit-down dinner, which we paired with top class wines, which went down a treat.  And I quote:  “It was the best evening – ever”!

The word is getting around that our auction offers the best value in town – we could definitely not have gained this reputation without your generous support.  The mix of items from hampers to getaways enthrals the crowd, and although the evening is all about support for penguin conservation, the folk leave feeling satisfied that they’ve made purchases of quality.

As at former auctions our auctioneer Willem Cronje was on top form.  He was again joined by Michelle Garforth-Venter on stage.  This year we had a double dose of Garforth-Venter as Riaan, Die Nutsman joined her as MC of the evening.  Amidst gales of laughter the trio parted the crowd with their money… all in aid of our precious penguins.

Next year the auction will be held on 8th October 2011 and we sincerely hope that we can once again rely on your support. (Hope to see you there )

Once again, thank you for your contribution to penguin conservation – we could not have done it without you!
